How do I track the identities of my survey respondents?

This is a very delicate and important research question and should not be taken lightly. If you are conducting a survey in which your respondents have been told that their answers are confidential and anonymous then you should not have the ability to identify them. In this case you should only use the system generated General Survey URL. If your survey is not confidential and anonymous then you can use ZipSurvey’s unique keys functionality to track survey respondent participation. By using unique keys, each respondent will receive a unique URL with an identifying alphanumeric code imbedded in the URL. This allows you to track participation through the Tracking and Reminders screen accessible from the Launch Survey screen. You can also send reminders to only those respondents who have not completed the survey, send reminders to individual respondents, edit or delete individual survey respondents.
