This month's free lesson plan is the first sample chapter for a new book in the new Vocabulary in Context series. The first book, Wilderness Survival is now available, and this book, Inside The World of Wizards, is based on the worlds of J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series, and is under consideration as one of the next available titles. The full lesson plan can be found here. Download Lesson Plan here. Please download and review the lesson before completing the survey. Each book in the series will have about 15 nonfiction passages on a high-interest topic with targeted vocabulary words highlighted in the passages. Students use context clues to define each word and practice using these words in a series of activities. Comprehension and inference questions reinforce students' retention of the material they've read.
